Japanese Sushihane Roasted Seaweed Nori - 10 sheets

Roasted seaweed, "Nori", is often used for rolling sushi. Nori should be kept in a sealable plastic bag as it can get damp and lose its flavor. Keep it in the refrigerator and use within a month. Nori is extremely low in calories and rich in minerals. You get 10 sheets per package, each sheet has perforations, 6 perforations per sheet. Excellent quality Japanese seaweed. All natural.
Customer Review: Japanese Sushihane Roasted Seaweed Nori
Awesome Nori! I only wish it came with a few recipes on the label or in the package!

No trip to Cuba is complete without visiting the most world-famous restaurant on the island: La Bodeguita del Medio.

And it has earned such a deserved reputation "for the Cuban feast" it represents to the palate; a venue where you can get familiar with the local cuisine very quickly.

La Bodeguita del Medio, also known as "La B del M", stands in one of the most bohemian corners of the Cuban capital. Almost located at random, it is situated at 206 Empedrado str. (Cobbled Street), and this road is really plenty of the famous "Chinas Pelonas" (Cobblestones), near the Cathedral Square in Old Havana.

This is the only restaurant with an open door way to the street and is always hosting its many visitors; one of the most exceptional restaurants in the city, inviting everyone, from millionaires to passing travelers, to enjoy the excellent food to the rhythm of the Cuban music that has always reigned here.

Curiously, the walls of the small (quite intimate) place are filled with a very particular graffiti: over two million signatures of the clientele.

Bric-a-brac also adorns the walls: autographed pictures, little flags and football banners.

The paper menu on the rustic tables offers limited but appeasable dishes and a lot of information at the same time.

On one side some verses from the national poet Nicols Guilln read:

"The small grocery shop is now the great grocery store/waving its standard triumphant in the air/ Small or great is not important/Havana brags about it with reason (...)/A toast to this story, hoping it will repeat itself again and to what is now the great grocery store/never stops being the small shop".

On the other side, stars for the main won prizes can be seen - it has been awarded hundreds of them -, such as the Best of the Best Five Star Diamond prize by the North American Academy of Gastronomic Sciences, amongst many others.

However, the main attraction here is the white rice, black beans "dormidos", roast pork, "masas de puerco fritas"(tender fried pork rinds),"pierna de puerco asada en su jugo" (oven roasted pork leg marinated in Cuban sauce),chicken casserole,

"picadillo la habanera" (ground beef), "aporreado de tasajo" (salt-dried beef stew), "vaca frita" (stir fried beef), "moros y cristianos" (rice and beans cooked together), starchy vegs, season salad, homemade desserts, bred and butter and Cuban coffee...

Although the celebrities were really attracted by the bohemian atmosphere of this place back in the 1950's, they were slowly captivated by the dishes served by ngel Martnez himself (already deceased), the man who turned the former grocery store into a restaurant on 26 April 1942, as a haunt for singers and poets.

This place played host to many celebrities, such as Ernest Hemingway, Mario Benedetti, Pablo Neruda, Errol Flyn, Pablo Milanes y Silvio Rodrguez, Wilfredo Lam, Gabriel Garca Mrquez, Alejo Carpentier, Agustn Lara, Brigitte Bardot, and you are also invited to be part of this Cuban joyful history.
